چکیده

In this work, Ceria-Zirconia on ordered Santa Barbara mesoporous silica (Ce-Zr-SBA-15), has been used directly as a catalyst for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) through Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). addition to cerium oxide, it contains zirconium oxide nano crystallites, which act catalysts nanostructures. The catalytic performance material was evaluated decomposition ethanol at 900 °C, with N2 flow. decomposed from absolute diffuses surface nanostructured and precipitates in form MWCNT structures, could be identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) Transmission (TEM), showing average diameters 30–35 nm.

Single-wall Carbon Nanotubes with Ferromagnetic Electrodes

The electron transport in single-wall carbon nanotubes is one-dimensional and ballistic. Typically carbon nanotubes form tunneling contacts to electrodes and behave as quantum dots at low temperatures. We report on experiments on carbon nanotubes contacted with ferromagnetic metal. In these devices strong hysteretic magnetoresistance is observed at low temperatures. A possible interpretation of...

Single-molecule sensing using carbon nanotubes decorated with magnetic clusters.

First-principles and nonequilibrium Green's function techniques are used to investigate magnetism and spin-polarized quantum transport in metallic carbon nanotubes (CNT) decorated with transition metal (Ni(13), Pt(13)) magnetic nanoclusters (NC). For small cluster sizes, the strong CNT-NC interaction induces spin-polarization in the CNT. The adsorption of a benzene molecule is found to drastica...

Gas sensing with gold-decorated vertically aligned carbon nanotubes

Vertically aligned carbon nanotubes of different lengths (150, 300, 500 µm) synthesized by thermal chemical vapor deposition and decorated with gold nanoparticles were investigated as gas sensitive materials for detecting nitrogen dioxide (NO2) at room temperature. Gold nanoparticles of about 6 nm in diameter were sputtered on the top surface of the carbon nanotube forests to enhance the sensit...

Synthesis and Characterization of Carbon Nanotubes Decorated with Magnesium Ferrite (MgFe2O4) Nanoparticles by Citrate-Gel Method

In the present work, magnetic nanocomposites of the multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) decorated with magnesium ferrite (MgFe2O4) nanoparticles were synthesized successfully by citrate-gel method. The shape, structure, size, and properties of the as-synthesized sample were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), transmission electron...

DNA-decorated carbon nanotubes for chemical sensing.

We demonstrate a new, versatile class of nanoscale chemical sensors based on single-stranded DNA (ss-DNA) as the chemical recognition site and single-walled carbon nanotube field effect transistors (swCN-FETs) as the electronic read-out component. swCN-FETs with a nanoscale coating of ss-DNA respond to gas odors that do not cause a detectable conductivity change in bare devices. Responses of ss...
